The boring bit
Privacy policy
Last updated 29 August 2026
We bake buns, not surveillance. This page explains what we collect, why, and how to get in touch. It is written for The Chubby Bun ("we", "us"), a small bakery taking online orders in the UK.
What we collect
When you place an order or email us, we may collect:
- Your name, email, phone number and delivery address
- Order details, delivery notes, and anything you tell us about allergies
- Messages you send to hello@thechubbybun.co.uk or via social media
Your tin (cart) is stored in your browser using local storage. That data stays on your device unless you check out and send us an order.
Why we use it
We use this information to:
- Fulfil your order and send a delivery confirmation
- Answer questions and handle refunds where they apply
- Keep a record of orders for accounting and food-safety reasons
We do not sell your details, and we do not run a pile of advertising trackers on this site.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as we need them for the bakery (typically up to six years for accounting). You can ask us to delete contact details that we no longer need for a live order or a legal obligation.
Your rights
If you are in the UK, you can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, or (in some cases) to delete it. Email hello@thechubbybun.co.uk and we will sort it out.
